Why you should hire a professional photographer to do your events

Should I Hire a Professional Photographer to Document My Event?

If you’re on the fence about whether or not to hire someone to photograph your event, consider these reasons:2 upCrossetti3

Let’s say the event is a family reunion and you want to get a group photo of the whole family. You could do it yourself, but one of two things could happen then. A) You have someone take the photo for you, leaving a family member out of the photo because they had to take it. This could possibly offend that person or make them feel awkward for being excluded. Or B) You set a timer on your camera. This can be problematic because there are so many people in the photo that you will need to take several images to make sure everyone is looking and has their eyes open. You will have to take two to three times as long to get the photos done because you’ll have to keep resetting the timer, and you still might not have gotten the shot. Hiring a professional will eliminate all of this stress.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to go around all night taking selfies with my phone or camera with all of my friends and family members. I would much prefer to relax and enjoy the moment instead of trying to capture it. The quality of the photos will be much better than the selfies. Also, trying to take a selfie with a group of people is next to impossible when trying to get everyone inside the frame.

If the event is a birthday party, you don’t want to miss out on visiting with guests or helping your child open presents or cut the cake because you are too busy 2 upVincellotrying to take the photos. You want to be part of the action, not stuck behind the camera.

Another great thing about hiring a professional is that you don’t have to worry about editing and distributing the photos after the event is over. You just have to wait to receive them from your photographer.

Finally, it’s really a gift to have well lit photographs taking by a professional who preserve the memory of your event. Those images are going to be cherished by everyone for a very long time to come.

Sassatelli Family

Hi, everyone!

Oh how I just adore the family I’m blogging about today. I’m lucky enough to say I’ve been photographing the Sassatelli family for 6 years now! I truly can’t believe how much their daughter has grown and changed since I first met them.   (below is only one year ago)

Andrea is 6 years old and she reads like a champ. Most of the time you’ll find her reading or creating something amazing out of stuff around the house.

And, it goes without saying, Jeanette and John have become my friends over the time we’ve worked together. It’s hard to not become friends with someone like Jeanette, she’s a beautiful person, smart and a great friend. Dad and husband, John, is just as great. He’s an engineer and plays the bagpipes around their home all the time.

When Jeanette called me to take their photos again, I couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the day.

And as for the day of the shoot, I had so much fun! They had a pretty great time, too.

“Spring is gorgeous when the leaves are starting to blossom and the weather finally gets warm,” says Jeannette.

Okay, enough text. Check out the wonderful Sassatelli family!

If you can’t remember the last time you loved photos of yourself… then now is the time to book a new session. I am your personal cheerleader and I will show you all the beauty of you in our session. We’ll laugh, we’ll play and in the end you’ll ooh and ahhh at your photos.

2 upMorin2Bookings are limited, as sessions fill up quickly. Have you seen your friends photos from their vacations? The groups of photos on the beach that are larger than life on their walls? Jealous? You don’t have to be. A photograph in your home is like a mini escape. You walk by, catch a glimpse of the moment and you’ll remember all of the best parts (or worst). Photographs are powerful and when you love yourself in them, they do wonders to boost your self esteem, even on your worst days.

March and More…. Thank You

Wow, January 8th was the last time I posted? been a long time. Lots of things have happened and more growing still is happening…

First and foremost I need to thank everyone that made the Boudoir Marathon a success!
The location was a stunning Mansion in Falmouth and I owe the biggest Thank you to Judy Shaw for lending it to me.
The lighting was perfect, the rooms were amazing and the photos came out stunning!

I had a great time, learned a lot about what I would do differently next time, and enjoyed each and every beautiful woman!!

Next, I am getting ready to teach a photography class to Realtors TOMORROW! Can you believe it? It’s been over a year since I taught photography to anyone, and I’m refreshing my memory with staging and using point and shoot cameras but I’m really excited. I can’t wait!

Also, I have two new assistants, ready and excited to start working with all of 2013 clients. They are great and will be introduced at a later date. Combining minds around photography has always been one of the best parts about the business. The creativity that comes out of talking, playing and working together is amazing and always helps me to continue to do more. Offer more. and just laugh more.

Bookings into the 2013 season for Weddings and Portraits are well on their way. One of my most recent bookings is for June with Abby and Jason. Just listening to their wedding plans has me SO excited for summer. A combination of Old cars, yard games, and a beautiful location… It’s going to be so much fun. They always have me smiling when I leave a meeting with them!

Let’s see… anything else? Oh Yes! The Flash Drives are ordered! No more Cd’s (unless you’re buying only a few digital files). But Weddings are all Flash drives now. Safer, cleaner, and easier to use on most computers and devices. I’ll post photos once they arrive.

I am also a new member to PPOCC Professional Photographers of Cape Cod. http://www.ppocc.org/ppocc/index.php
This is a big deal for me because it’s getting to be around more like-minded professionals that put their clients first! I can’t wait to attend the first meeting.

I truly feel blessed to be back home on Cape Cod and working in the best profession.
I will attempt to blog a little bit more… but wedding season is starting in March for Michelle Kaye Photography which usually makes it a busy time…

So Don’t miss a moment, call me today to make sure we have your photography investment on the calendar.

All The Best!
Michelle
